"Beating the Odds"--SCHS Recognized by State of Michigan

St. Clair High School made the Michigan Department of Education's list of schools outperforming schools with similar risk factors and demographics. Two studies were conducted to identify the 123 schools throughout the state beating the odds. St. Clair High School, the only high school in the Blue Water Area, is one of 83 schools performing better than a comparison group of schools with similar demographics. "Beating the Odds schools have found ways to work smarter and harder, not just harder," Michigan Superintendent of Public Instruction Mike Flanagan said in a statement. "They have good leaders, knowledgeable and prepared teachers who engage students, and a commitment to involve and embrace parents and the community." Congratulations to the students, teachers, and administrators of St. Clair High School for this outstanding achievement!
